bnpl-blocks-atom-container@35.7.4
Malicious code in bnpl-blocks-atom-container (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads a platform-specific binary from attacker-controlled Cloudflare Workers endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe. If those fail it falls back to a DNS-TXT-steganography channel under wel1[.]ru (c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru) that reassembles a base64 payload. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process (cmd.exe /c start /b on Windows, /bin/sh -c on Unix). A stamp file limits execution to roughly once every 6 hours.
