bnpl-blocks-atom-bnpl-text@35.8.8
Malicious code in bnpl-blocks-atom-bnpl-text (npm)
Analysis
On require, this package runs a dropper (bundled as _polyfill.js) that downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers endpoints oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev (paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe), with a DNS-TXT fallback channel via c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru that base64-decodes the payload from TXT records. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp or %TEMP% under a random name (.cache_<hex> or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe), made executable, and launched as a detached background process (cmd.exe /c start /b on Windows, /bin/sh -c "&" on Unix) so it runs independently of the parent. The package also ships an 81KB decoy telemetry module (lib/telemetry.js) that provides no real analytics transport.
