docsmate-docsmate-core@35.9.3
Malicious code in docsmate-docsmate-core (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package runs a dropper that fingerprints the OS/architecture and downloads a second-stage binary over HTTPS from multiple Cloudflare Workers hosts (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, and /pkg/package.exe. If the HTTPS fetch fails it falls back to DNS TXT-based retrieval from c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru (base64 chunk reassembly). The downloaded payload is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe under %TEMP% on Windows), made executable, and launched detached via /bin/sh -c "<path> &" or cmd.exe /c start /b. The package also ships a decoy analytics/telemetry module.
