tinkoff-boxy-mobile-separator@20.8.8
Malicious code in tinkoff-boxy-mobile-separator (npm)
Analysis
On require(), the package collects system information (platform, architecture, hostname, CPU count, memory) and downloads a second-stage binary from Cloudflare Workers C2 infrastructure. It tries up to 4 C2 hosts in random order: oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev — each serving /pkg/package (or platform-specific paths like /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe). If all HTTPS attempts fail, it falls back to DNS TXT-based payload retrieval from c[.]tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site (and platform-specific variants tina[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, ldr[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, win[.]dl[.]well1[.]site). The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<random-hex> (Linux/macOS) or C:\Windows\Temp\dotnet_diag_<random-hex>.exe (Windows) and executed as a detached background process. A marker file at /tmp/.analytics_state limits re-execution to once per ~20 seconds.
