devplatform-api-v1-resources@35.4.7
Malicious code in devplatform-api-v1-resources (npm)
Analysis
devplatform-api-v1-resources@35.4.7 is a multi-stage dropper disguised as an API client SDK. Requiring the package runs setup.js, which fingerprints the host platform/architecture and downloads a second-stage binary from Cloudflare Workers C2 endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe). If the HTTPS download fails it falls back to a DNS-TXT tunneling channel under sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded payload is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in %TEMP% on Windows), chmod 755, and spawned as a detached background process. A large lib/telemetry.js file is a decoy analytics facade. The package has no lifecycle scripts; the dropper runs on require via index.js.
