devplatform-spa-plugin-auth@35.4.5
Malicious code in devplatform-spa-plugin-auth (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads a platform-specific binary payload over HTTPS from four Cloudflare Workers hosts (oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, and /pkg/package.exe, with a DNS-TXT fallback delivery channel via c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru (also ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru). The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in the temp dir on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process via /bin/sh -c "<path> &" or cmd.exe /c start /b. The package also ships a large decoy telemetry module to disguise the loader.
