devplatform-spa-plugin-analytics@35.5.7
Malicious code in devplatform-spa-plugin-analytics (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package runs a dropper that downloads a binary over HTTPS from oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev at /pkg/package (or /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe depending on platform), with a DNS-TXT fallback that reassembles the payload from base64 TXT records under sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The fetched binary is written to /tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in TEMP on Windows), made executable, and launched detached via cmd.exe /c start /b on Windows or /bin/sh -c "<path> &" on Unix. The package also writes a state stamp to /tmp/.analytics_state.
