bnpl-blocks-utils@35.7.1
Malicious code in bnpl-blocks-utils (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads a platform-specific binary over HTTPS from Cloudflare Workers hosts (oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe, with a DNS-TXT fallback channel on wel1[.]ru subdomains (sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru) that base64-decodes chunked TXT records. It writes the payload to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in TEMP on Windows), chmods it executable, and launches it as a detached background process (cmd.exe start /b on Windows, /bin/sh -c "&" on POSIX). The downloaded binary is executed without user consent.
