beaver-ui-popover-card@35.4.4
Malicious code in beaver-ui-popover-card (npm)
Analysis
beaver-ui-popover-card@35.4.4 is a fake UI toolkit that acts as a multi-stage dropper. On require, index.js loads _support.js, which fingerprints the platform/architecture and downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe. If those fail, it reconstructs a base64 payload from DNS TXT records queried against c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe under the Windows temp dir) and executed detached via /bin/sh -c "<path> &" or cmd.exe /c start /b. A state file at /tmp/.analytics_state throttles repeat downloads. The bundled lib/telemetry.js is a decoy analytics module.
