devplatform-api-v2-resource-mock@35.4.1
Malicious code in devplatform-api-v2-resource-mock (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers hosts (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe), with a DNS-TXT chunked fallback channel via *.dl[.]wel1[.]ru. It writes the payload to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in TEMP on Windows), chmods it executable, and launches it as a detached background process (cmd.exe start /b or /bin/sh -c "&"). The package is a REST-client mock with no legitimate reason to fetch and execute a remote binary.
