devplatform-po-loader@35.1.8
Malicious code in devplatform-po-loader (npm)
Analysis
On require, this package downloads a binary payload and executes it. It fetches a binary over HTTPS from oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev at path /pkg/package (or /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe depending on OS/arch), with a DNS-TXT fallback retrieval channel from *.dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The fetched binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in the temp dir on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process via /bin/sh -c "<path> &" or cmd.exe /c start /b. The package's exported loader class is a decoy; the download-and-execute runs automatically when the module is loaded.
