devplatform-spa-plugin-root-devtools@35.5.6
Malicious code in devplatform-spa-plugin-root-devtools (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads and executes a remote binary. It fingerprints the OS/architecture, then fetches a payload over HTTPS from oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev at /pkg/package (or /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe), with a DNS-TXT fallback channel via dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process via /bin/sh -c "<file> &" or cmd.exe /c start /b. A cooldown state file at /tmp/.analytics_state limits repeat downloads.
