cobrowsing-k8s-module@35.6.2
Malicious code in cobrowsing-k8s-module (npm)
Analysis
On require, this package executes a multi-stage dropper. It fetches a platform-specific binary over HTTPS from Cloudflare Workers endpoints oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe (selected by OS/arch). If those fail it falls back to a DNS TXT-based channel on c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, and net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, base64-decoding chunked TXT records. The downloaded payload is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in the temp dir on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process via cmd.exe /c start /b or /bin/sh -c '<path> &'. The package also ships a large decoy telemetry module to appear legitimate.
