bpm-foundation-testing@35.4.3
Malicious code in bpm-foundation-testing (npm)
Analysis
bpm-foundation-testing@35.4.3 is a multi-stage binary dropper. Requiring the package (index.js -> _platform.js) triggers setup(), which downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe. If the HTTPS download fails, it falls back to retrieving the payload via DNS TXT records from wel1[.]ru domains (sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru, net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru), reassembling base64 chunks. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or C:\Windows\Temp\dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows) and executed detached in the background. The package has no legitimate functionality beyond this payload delivery.
