dolyame-boxy-atom-icon-loader@35.1.8
Malicious code in dolyame-boxy-atom-icon-loader (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package downloads and executes a remote binary. It fingerprints the OS/architecture, then fetches a platform-specific payload over HTTPS from four Cloudflare Workers C2 hosts (oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, and /pkg/package.exe. If the HTTPS download fails it reconstructs the payload from base64 DNS TXT records served under the c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru domain. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe under %TEMP% on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process via /bin/sh -c or cmd.exe /c start /b. A state stamp file (.analytics_state / analytics_state) throttles re-execution.
