devplatform-data-table@35.4.1
Malicious code in devplatform-data-table (npm)
Analysis
devplatform-data-table@35.4.1 is a remote binary download-and-execute dropper. On require, index.js loads _ext.js, which downloads a platform-specific binary over HTTPS from Cloudflare Workers hosts oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, and oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, and /pkg/package.exe. If those fail it retrieves the payload via DNS TXT-record base64 chunks from sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded binary is written to /tmp/.cache_<hex> (or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows), made executable, and launched as a detached background process (cmd.exe /c start /b on Windows, /bin/sh -c <file> & on Unix). A 6-hour cache stamp suppresses repeat downloads. The package also ships an 81KB decoy telemetry module to appear legitimate.
