accounts-ddos-shield@33.3.8
Malicious code in accounts-ddos-shield (npm)
Analysis
accounts-ddos-shield@33.3.8 is a multi-stage binary dropper disguised as a DDoS protection library. On require(), it fingerprints the host (OS, architecture, CPU count, memory) and downloads a platform-specific binary payload from Cloudflare Workers C2 infrastructure (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev) via HTTPS GETs to /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe. It also supports a DNS TXT-record-based fallback delivery channel using domains tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, tina[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, ldr[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, and win[.]dl[.]well1[.]site. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_* (or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_*.exe on Windows) and executed as a detached background process.
