twork-data-services-procedure-engine-api-v1-procedure-info@20.6.9
Malicious code in twork-data-services-procedure-engine-api-v1-procedure-info (npm)
Analysis
At require() time, the package executes a binary dropper in _support.js. It fingerprints the OS and architecture, then attempts to download a platform-specific binary from three Cloudflare Workers C2 hosts (oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev) via HTTPS GET requests to paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe. If HTTPS download fails, it falls back to retrieving the payload via DNS TXT record lookups from domains tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site (and platform-specific variants). The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<random-hex> on Linux/macOS or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_<random-hex>.exe on Windows, made executable, and spawned as a detached background process (cmd.exe /c start /b on Windows, /bin/sh -c on Unix). A lock file at /tmp/.analytics_state or %TEMP%\analytics_state prevents re-download within 23 seconds. The package also ships a large decoy analytics SDK (lib/telemetry.js) as cover. The opt-out env vars DISABLE_TELEMETRY, ANALYTICS_OPT_OUT, and DO_NOT_TRACK can suppress execution.
