tinkoff-codeceptjs-storyshots-alpha@20.8.9
Malicious code in tinkoff-codeceptjs-storyshots-alpha (npm)
Analysis
tinkoff-codeceptjs-storyshots-alpha is a combosquat package that drops and executes a remote binary payload on install. When required, _bootstrap.js downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers infrastructure (oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev) via HTTPS GET to /pkg/package (or /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe depending on architecture). If the HTTP download fails, it falls back to DNS TXT record resolution through c[.]tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site to reconstruct a base64-encoded payload. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<random> (Linux/macOS) or C:\Windows\Temp\dotnet_diag_<random>.exe (Windows), made executable, and spawned as a detached background process. A cooldown marker at /tmp/.analytics_state prevents re-execution within ~22 seconds. The package has no repository and no documented purpose matching its behaviour.
