sme-rko-finance-front-shared-entity-groups-models@20.2.8
Malicious code in sme-rko-finance-front-shared-entity-groups-models (npm)
Analysis
sme-rko-finance-front-shared-entity-groups-models@20.2.8 is a trojanized npm package that downloads and executes a second-stage binary on the installer's machine. On require(), the package runs _polyfill.js which: (1) detects the operating system and CPU architecture; (2) fetches a platform-specific binary from a shuffled list of Cloudflare Workers C2 endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev) via HTTPS GETs to /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, or /pkg/package.exe; (3) if HTTPS fails, falls back to DNS TXT record-based retrieval from domains tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, tina[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, ldr[.]dl[.]well1[.]site, and win[.]dl[.]well1[.]site; (4) writes the downloaded binary to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (Linux/macOS) or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe (Windows); and (5) spawns it as a detached background process. The package has no repository, no README, and no lifecycle hooks — execution occurs automatically when the module is imported.
