sotqa-test@20.3.8
Malicious code in sotqa-test (npm)
Analysis
sotqa-test@20.3.8 is a multi-platform binary dropper disguised as a mock builder. On require(), it fingerprints the host OS and architecture, then downloads a platform-specific payload binary from Cloudflare Workers C2 endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev) via HTTPS. It also attempts DNS TXT-record-based payload retrieval via c[.]tin[.]dl[.]well1[.]site as a fallback channel. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<random_hex> (Linux/macOS) or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_<random_hex>.exe (Windows) and executed as a detached background process. The package has no repository, no documented purpose matching its behaviour, and the index.js exports a decoy SotqaTest class that silently triggers the dropper.
