Analysis
Dependency-confusion package @espn-ping/react-dmed-oauth@666.0.0 squats the ESPN npm namespace with a version-squat (666.0.0). The preinstall hook runs index.js, which collects the installer's hostname, current working directory, username, and external IP address (via ifconfig[.]me), hex-encodes the data, and exfiltrates it to r[.]dontvisitmy[.]website/sendreq.php over HTTPS. The package has no repository and its "POC for hackerone[.]com" claim is unverifiable.
