tailwindcss-form@0.0.0-stage
Malicious code in tailwindcss-form (npm)
Analysis
tailwindcss-form@0.0.0-stage ships no executable code: the tarball contains only a package.json and a README.md. The package.json declares "stub": true with the description "Temporary package placeholder for staged publishing", and the README states it is "a temporary placeholder for this package" with an operational version "awaiting a staged release". The name impersonates the legitimate @tailwindcss/forms package (combosquat: the real name with the scope dropped and the trailing "s" removed). This code-free version reserves the package name ahead of a staged release; the package name has previously been used to distribute malicious code, and this placeholder is the staging step for a follow-up version expected to carry the payload. No payload, lifecycle hook, network call, or credential access is present in this version — the analysis of this version is metadata-only.
