dp-web-header@35.3.8
Malicious code in dp-web-header (npm)
Analysis
dp-web-header is a decoy "shared web header library" that, on require(), downloads and executes a remote binary. It fetches a platform-specific payload over HTTPS from three Cloudflare Workers endpoints (oob-worker[.]cf100-416[.]workers[.]dev/pkg/package, oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev/pkg/package, oob-worker[.]cf99-9b3[.]workers[.]dev/pkg/package), with a DNS-TXT-chunked fallback that reassembles base64 data from c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe in the Windows temp dir), made executable, and launched as a detached background process. A state marker at /tmp/.analytics_state throttles re-downloads.
