devplatform-spa-plugin-notifier@35.5.7
Malicious code in devplatform-spa-plugin-notifier (npm)
Analysis
On require, the package executes a bundled bootstrap that downloads a platform-specific binary from Cloudflare Workers hosts (oob-worker[.]cf101-adf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf102-baf[.]workers[.]dev, oob-worker[.]cf103-070[.]workers[.]dev) at paths /pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe, with a DNS-TXT fallback channel via c[.]sdk[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / ext[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / pkg[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru / net[.]dl[.]wel1[.]ru. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp/.cache_<hex> (or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe on Windows), made executable, and launched detached in the background. The package also writes a state lockfile to /tmp/.analytics_state. The bundled lib/telemetry.js is a decoy analytics-SDK file and is not invoked.
